VINC has outsourced its consultation service to Jenny Harrington Horticultural Services and Marg Grounds Garden Design.
The creative process begins by meeting with the client to understand how to achieve a garden that will best represent their vision. The unique Indigenous garden is achieved by practical and creative solutions along with good plant selection.
Both Jenny and Marg’s current projects have included working with Local Councils in supporting local residents and schools to design, enhance and promote our Indigenous gardens/plants.
Jenny has extensive experience working in Horticulture. She has been designing, implementing and maintaining Indigenous gardens for a variety of clients. Working at VINC part-time for (14 years) and running her own garden design/maintenance business for 20 years. Working within all these aspects of horticulture have contributed to her specialist knowledge and passion for using our local plants.
Marg has worked in horticulture for 16 years, and has experience in designing, installing and maintaining gardens. She was head gardener at Abbotsford Convent for five years, and has experience managing heritage-listed trees and historic gardens. She also has experience managing and restoring bushland, and native gardens, having lived on the edge of Bendigo for 18 years on a semi-cleared block.
The most common service provided by the team is the one-hour site visit aimed to get you started on a garden design. Coming from VINC the focus is on using indigenous plants, and both Jenny and Marg currently work part-time at the nursery and are conversant with the species.
